Notes:

  • Extraordinary engraving in the style of Conn engravers, the Stenberg brothers. Engraving depicts three horses on the bell, farmhouses, a butterfly, and a German Shepherd on the body, along with floral decorations covering the instrument.

  • Donor says that he played this horn in junior high school, as did his father before him. Family lore is that the donor's grandmother bought it from someone who claimed it was Wayne King's saxophone, and it does date to the time King formed his orchestra. However, we are still searching for confirmation.
